Before installing the software from 123.hp.com/setup, make sure that your printer is installed correctly in the best position. Now, to establish network connection with your printer, there are 3 ways to do it:

For your printer to run properly, you need to install the required drivers and software on the printer. These drivers are needed as they give the printing commands to the printer.

  • Switch on both the printer and the computer. 

  • From the browser, go to 123.hp.com.

  • Choose your operating system and search for the right printer driver based on the printer model you own.

The error 0x00000709 is caused when you try to connect your printer to a Windows 10 operating system. Such errors occur when there are configuration or setup issues on the computer. When the error 0x00000709 pops up on the screen, it's because of a faulty printer set.

 

To resolve the error, you can do the following methods:


  1. RUN THE TROUBLESHOOTER:


Running the troubleshooter is the easiest way to resolve the error. Press the Windows key and the R key to launch the Run dialog box and enter the command - msdt.exe /id PrinterDiagnostic. Follow the instructions given to fix the error. 

 

  1. USE THE REGISTRY EDITOR


Follow the same steps to open the Run dialog box and enter regedit into it and press Enter. Select Yes for User Account Control Prompt and the registry editor will open. Go to the key location provided - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows. 

Open the Device file and add the name of your printer in the Value Data field and press OK.

You will see an error message stating that the device cannot be edited. Click OK to proceed. 

 

After adding your printer, reverse the permissions which you have made. Go to the Windows folder and select Permissions. The user name or group section will open up and there you must click on the Restricted option. From the three options given below, enable Allow option for all. Finally, open the file named as UserSelectedDefault and then select on Rename your printer option. Restart the computer to apply the necessary changes.
