To get rid of the printhead issue in your hp printer you need to remove it first then clean and later reinstall.

Remove the Printhead:

  • Switch On your Hp printer manually or with the power button.

  • Open the printer's cartridge access door.

  • Take out the cartridge and put it on paper. Meanwhile, pay attention to the ink point if it is in the upward direction.

  • Open the printer carriage latch by lifting the handle.

  • Lift up the latch and remove the printhead.

Please note that you don’t keep the printer cartridges out for more than 30 minutes or it will damage the printer and itself.

Clean the Printhead:

Bring all the cleaning material in one place:

  1. Lint-free paper/cloth or eyeglass cleaning cloth, or coffee filter (any of these will work).

  2. Distilled water bottle.

Clean the Printhead:-

For cleaning the printhead you need to focus on three main areas, which are the electric contact, Each corner of the nozzles, and the plastic ramps on each side of the ink nozzles.

  • Wet the lint-free paper or cloth a little and roll over the electric contact area from top to bottom smoothly.

Note: Don’t go beyond the electrical contacts and edges in between the nozzles. Clean properly so as no new ink appears on the cloth or paper.

  • Now, clean each side(corners) of the nozzles with a lint-free, moist, and fresh cloth.

  • Wipe all the areas of the nozzle including plastic ramps for final cleaning.

To proceed with reinstalling the printhead, keep the latch handle up.

  • Install the hp printhead properly.

  • Put down the latch handle and make sure you lower it before installing the cartridge.
