1. HP Auto Wireless Connect 

 

In this wireless connection method, your HP printer doesn’t require the SSID (network name) and network password. Also, there is no need to connect any wires or cables in this process. Here is how to connect using HP Auto Wireless Connect method.

 

1.      Connect your HP printer to the same WiFi router as your computer.

2.      Make sure to update your Windows or Mac to the latest operating systems.

3.      The wireless router should be compatible with 2.4 GHz as HP printers do not support more than 2.4 GHz frequency.

4.      Be sure that your computer works on a dynamic IP address.

5. Now turn on your computer, open the Chrome browser, and visit 123.hp.com/setup.

6.    Click Support or navigate to the Support section and select Download Drivers.

7.    Follow and complete the on-screen instructions to install these drivers on your computer.

8.      After completing the installation, turn on your HP printer.

9.  Now the software will detect your printer (if it supports Auto Wireless Connect).

10. When the software asks you the connection type, you need to select Network (Ethernet/Wireless).

11.  After that, click the option “Yes, send my wireless settings.”

12.  Wait for a few seconds to secure the wireless connection setup.

 

2. WiFi Protected Setup (WPS connection) 

 

The WPS method connects your HP printer to the wireless connection using WPS Pin and Pushbutton. You can use any of them; however, the Pushbutton method is quick and easy compared to the WPS pin method.

 

WPS Pushbutton (Use it if your router has physical WPS button)

 

1.      On your printer control panel, click Settings.

2.      Further, click Network Setup and then press Wireless Settings.

3.      Now, select WiFi Protected Setup and then choose the option Pushbutton.

Within two minutes, press the WPS Pushbutton on your router.

 

WPS Pin

 

1.      Turn on your printer.

2.      Click the Settings (gear icon) and then select Network Setup.

3.   Now, scroll the control panel and click Wireless Settings > WiFi Protected Setup.

4.      On the next screen, click PIN.

5.      Your HP printer will display an eight-digit WPS pin, note it don.

  Now enter it on your computer under the notification window.

 

3. Wireless Setup Wizard 

 

This method requires the network SSID name and password. After putting these details on your printer control panel, you can secure the printer WiFi connection using Wireless Setup Wizard.

 

1.    Be sure your HP Printer is On and click Setup icon (gear or wrench symbol) on the printer control panel.

2.      Click Network by scrolling either to the left or right on the control panel.

3.      Now select Wireless Setup Wizard.

4.      From the list of available networks, click on your network SSID and then enter the password using a keyboard on the printer’s control panel.

5.      If you cannot find your network name, enter it manually at the last of the network list.

6.      Wait for your printer to establish the wireless network connection.

7.      Send the print command to check network connectivity.

 

4. USB setup 

 

In case your printer doesn’t have a touch control panel, then use the USB setup method to establish the HP printer wireless connection. Also, it will require you to connect your printer with a computer via USB cable during the process. Follow the steps given below to use this method.

 

1. Visit the website 123.hp.com/setup from your computer and click Download Drivers from the Support section.

2.      During the drives and software installation process, select the connection type as USB.

3.    Connect your printer to the computer with USB cable when the software instructs you to do it.
